Hate Has No Home vigil

CALLICOON, NY — The second “Hate Has No Home in Sullivan County” vigil drew a healthy crowd to the train depot in Callicoon on February 23. The vigil was sponsored by the Sullivan County Human Rights Commission, in partnership with Sullivan Allies Leading Together (SALT) and the Callicoon Business Association.

“By attending, we are stating that our hearts and minds will always be connected with those who have suffered directly or indirectly from attacks upon faith, race or identity,” said Martin Colavito, chair of the Human Rights Commission.
As with the previous similar vigil in Monticello, there were comments from clergy of the Christian, Jewish and Muslim faiths.

Meetings of the Sullivan County Human Rights Commission are open to the public and are held on the second Thursday of every month at the government center in Monticello.

Hate, home, Sullivan County
