FERNDALE, NY —Numerous gardeners and beautification enthusiasts gathered on January 8 for the G2R Winter Symposium—Get Ready to Renaissance conference. The symposium presented resources for successful Sullivan Renaissance projects. Following presentations that highlights the positive experience and effectiveness of the programs, workshops in fundraising, marketing, gardening and recruiting volunteers for local beatification projects, were offered.
The choice of workshops included: the WOW Factor led by Sullivan Renaissance judges Peter Patel and Ann Smith; Volunteer Power led by volunteer program manager Anne-Louise Scandariato; Project Success Through Budget and Promotion led by Cory Dame, marketing and events coordinator, Kathleen Capozzoli, fiscal manager; Building a Healthy Community led by Colleen Emery, healthy communities program manager and Juan Journet, neighborhood revitalization coordinator.
