NARROWSBURG, NY — Philip Jacobi has opened his home at 146 Humphrey Rd. for an art exhibit featuring the work of himself, Juilius Valiunas and Jane Morris.

“In situ” held its opening reception last weekend, and will be open throughout the month of June, 1 to 5 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays as well as by appointment.

Valiunas, a multidisciplinary artist out of New York City, uses the rural landscape as an outdoor studio for his “Country Canvas” paintings on metal. The pieces are arranged like signposts along a highway vista, positioned to reflect sculptural space on two dimensional surfaces. After graduating from the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, Valiunas worked as an artist and curator in New York City and now lives in Narrowsburg.

Jacobi uses wood, lighting and mixed media in his work, which include small and large light boxes, table lamps that feature stained and colored glass and repurposed objects for home décor and lighting. Jacobi’s own personal collection of local artists—including Nancy Wells, Margo Spoerri and Eva Drizal—will be featured in the show.

Jane Morris is a photographer, who studied at the School of Visual Arts and International Center of Photography and has taken photos for Conde Nast publications and New York Magazine.
