WURTSBORO, NY — Catholic Charities Community Services of Orange and Sullivan, in partnership with the Town of Mamakating and the Tri-County Community Partnership, will host a free Narcan training for community members on Wednesday, May 23 at 6:30 p.m. at the Mamakating Town Hall, 2948 Rte. 209. The free training is recommended for parents, other loved ones, and anyone closely associated with an individual suffering with a heroin/prescription opioid addiction.
Narcan, also known as naloxone, is an anti-overdose medication that inhibits the effect of a heroin/opioid overdose. It can be administered via injection or nasal spray by a lay person who has received training to carry a Narcan prescription.
