Frank Randolph Atkins of Warwick, NY entered into eternal rest at his home, surrounded by his loving family, on May 8, 2018 after a battle with pancreatic cancer. He was 60 years old.

Born April 23, 1958 in Catskill, NY to parents Richard Frank Atkins and Stella Mae (Diuguid) Atkins, he was married to Haydee Lastra-Atkins. Frank is survived by his wife Haydee Lastra-Atkins of Warwick; and son Richard Frank Atkins and his wife Daniela Gonzalez Atkins, currently residing in Fredericton, New Brunswick, CA.

Survivors also include sisters: Susan Atkins Davidson and her husband Alan of Woodbridge, CT, and Linda Atkins Oettinger and husband William of Catskill NY; as well as nieces and nephews: Amy, Brad, Taice and Jared, and the Lastra family.

Frank graduated from Ithaca College in 1980 with a Bachelor of Science in Human Resources and Labor Relations. Frank worked for Emblem Health (formerly HIP of NYC) in New York City as a supervisor of medical management reporting and data analysis. Frank also worked as assistant director of care management and a recruiter for the company earlier in his career.

Prior to his employment with Emblem Health, he worked for Prudential, 1992-1993, and Blue Cross and Blue Shield, 1985-1992. Frank was a member of the Warwick United Methodist Church, where he taught Sunday school for many years, and also led a Saturday morning men’s fellowship group. He served on the New York–Connecticut District, Methodist Church Lay Servant Ministry 2013-2016, and as Lay Servant District Committee chair, 2013-2015.

Frank loved fishing on the Delaware River, a place near and dear to his heart, since he spent much of his childhood summers there. He also enjoyed playing softball, golf, cards and watching baseball and NASCAR. He was a devoted Mets fan and loved orchestrating family and friend outings to watch his favorite team play. He was known and loved by many in Warwick and enjoyed all it had to offer. He was a wonderful husband and father, devoted to his family, friends, and God. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, June 10, 2018 at the Warwick United Methodist Church, 135 Forester Ave., Warwick NY 10990, 845/986-1030. A reception at the church will follow the service. The burial will be private.
