STROUDSBURG, PA — New Perspectives, New Perspectives, a Stroudsburg-based program providing residential and mobile crisis services for people with mental health challenges, will launch a new crisis center on January 1, 2019, that will work in tandem with the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline’s network of local call centers nationwide. The center — one of many programs run by Resources for Human Development (RHD) — will give residents in the Poconos region the chance to receive lifesaving tools in times of need.

“Currently people from Carbon, Monroe, and Pike Counties may be routed to national backup centers outside of Pennsylvania when they call the Lifeline,” Michael Usino, New Perspectives program director, said in a release. “With RHD New Perspectives joining the lifeline, we will be able to assist callers with first-hand knowledge of local services, interventions, and resources available.”
