Hello, I hope you all had a great Fourth of July. As for me, I was at a party. What an amazing fireworks show around Lake Huntington; so many different families were a part of the fabulous display of fireworks.

I was sitting on my friend’s dock watching the fireworks in front of the full moon. The evening cooled down from a very hot muggy day. It was the perfect night. I was thinking about how fireworks are not cheap; every time one went off, I saw dollar signs. In these hard times we are all going through, I could not believe how people still found a way to pay for the fireworks to entertain their families and whoever else was watching. I personally would like to say thank you, you made my night.

Speaking of Lake Huntington, I received an email from Michael F. Popolillo, president of the Lake Huntington NY Lake Association, Inc.: “For those who have sent in your dues already, thank you! If you do not own property on the lake but enjoy using it, you can also make a donation. The lake is so beautiful. All the people using the lake this year have really sparked an excitement for the future! With your dues, we can look forward to doing more treatments to the lake and invest in more testing to see how to combat the influx of nutrients going into the lake. Please send your check or any form of payment to Lake Huntington NY Lake Association, Inc. P.O. Box 95, Lake Huntington, NY 12752. Have a great summer and stay safe. Thank you.”

April Rutledge would like to get her message out to all her running friends, family and past teammates. Please consider running or walking the virtual Turtle Trot 5k or 10k and receive your very own turtle shirt. You can sign up at www.bit.ly/turt
letrotjeff by 12 midnight on Thursday, July 9. Run or walk whenever you want. Donations are also greatly appreciated, and you can get your business name on the shirt for just $100. April says thank you to everyone who has already signed up and/or donated.

Please follow the New Cochecton Youth Group on Facebook for more information on upcoming activities. In the next few weeks, they will be posting information on outdoor virtual activities.

Be safe, wash your hands and wear your mask.

Keep smiling and have a great week. You can email me at leeniebeans@citlink.net or call 845/252-3568 if you have any news. My new deadline is Friday. You can also check me out in community living.
