Festival of Wood planned for September

Posted

MILFORD, PA — The Festival of Wood, a celebration of our natural and cultural heritage of wood, returns to Grey Towers National Historic Site on Saturday, September 24 and Sunday, September 25.

The event features wood crafts and demonstrations, children’s activities, music, refreshments and more.

There will also be tours of the mansion—also known as Gifford Pinchot House or the Pinchot Institute—which is the ancestral home of Gifford Pinchot, first director of the United States Forest Service and twice-elected governor of Pennsylvania.

Admission is free, and free shuttle service will be provided.

Sponsored by the U.S. Forest Service at Grey Towers, Pocono Arts Council and Grey Towers Heritage Association, this year’s event kicks off on National Public Lands Day on September 24.

An online application will be available soon for artisans at https://poconoarts.org/event/festival-of-wood/2022-09-24/
