BETHANY, PA — Cure your winter “blahs” with rich and hearty homemade soups, as Bethany hosts its fifth annual Soup-er Sunday soup sale on February 24 at 11 a.m. Choose from up to 20 options to take away or eat in at Bethany Borough’s community room upstairs from the Bethany Public Library, located at 8 Court Street along Route 670.
Offerings include creamy mushroom, beef barley, potato leek, two kinds of chicken noodle (one with homemade noodles), broccoli and cheddar, chicken tortellini and much more. Starting at 11 a.m., take-out orders may be picked up—a quart of soup in a mason jar costs $10; or dine in—a bowl costs $3, or two bowls for $5. Soup-er Sunday ends at 2:30 p.m. (or before, if the soup runs out). To order ahead, call Janet Heinly at 570/253-5573, and leave your name and phone number, which soup(s) and the number of quarts you want.
