Fatal motorcycle incident in Bethany Borough

Press release from Wayne County Coroner:

On Thursday, July 4, 2019 at 10:09 PM, Wayne County 911 received a call regarding a motorcycle collision into a tree, in the park across from 403 Wayne Street in Bethany Borough.

This office was dispatched at 10:24 PM. Edward Howell, Wayne County Coroner arrived on scene at 10:49 PM. The decedent was identified as Harold James Gonzales, age 61, of Old Salem Pike, Honesdale, PA.

Coroner Howell pronounced Gonzales dead at 10:53 PM.

Cause of death: multiple traumatic injuries due to motorcycle collision with tree.

This incident did not involve any other vehicles.

Gonzales was the operator of the motorcycle and had no passengers; he was not wearing a helmet.
