Eric J. Hector Sr. of Narrowsburg, NY, a contractor and lifelong resident of the area, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, January 17, 2017. He was 52. The son of John Hector and Kathleen Igoe Hector, he was born June 11, 1964 in Honesdale, PA.

Eric was a master spackler, well known throughout the area for his artistry and talent.

A family statement reads: “Eric loved spending his free time with his two sons, listening to music, going to concerts, hiking and watching sports. He will truly be missed.”

Survivors include his two sons, Eric J. Hector Jr. and his companion Cassie Mapes of Narrowsburg, NY, and Kyle Hector of Narrowsburg, NY; his former wife Kathleen Badstein Hector of Lake Huntington, NY; two grandsons: Sylas and Cody Lee; his parents John Hector and Kathleen Hector of Narrowsburg; his two sisters: Eileen Joyce of Manhasset, NY, and Jeanine Conklin of Narrowsburg, NY; two brothers, John Hector Jr. of San Diego, CA, and Michael Hector of Narrowsburg, NY; and numerous uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces and cousins.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, January 21, 2017 at the Rasmussen Funeral Home, 90 Main St., Narrowsburg, NY. Burial followed in Glen Cove Cemetery, Narrowsburg, NY.
