ERH highlighted for successful MAX series work

ELLENVILLE, NY — Earlier this year, the New York State Department of Health hosted a MAX Series Symposium in New York City. Ellenville Regional Hospital was one of 10 institutions being recognized for its work in the MAX Series program. The competition included some of the largest hospital systems in New York State such as New York Presbyterian and Montefiore. Out of all 10 projects throughout New York State, Ellenville Regional Hospital was the top project featured and the only hospital to be presented via video. The video is posted below. As a result of its ranking, Ellenville Regional had the keynote time slot immediately after lunch.

The MAX series has been an important part of supporting Performing Provider Systems (PPS) and partners as they work toward Delivery System Reform Incentive Payment (DSRIP) goals. DSRIP’s purpose is to reconstruct the health-care delivery system by reinvesting in the Medicaid program, with its main goal being to reduce avoidable hospital use by 25% over the next five years. The results are in, and they are showing a successful outcome from over 100 action teams who have shown measurable reductions in avoidable hospital visits for the most vulnerable high-utilizer patient groups. The MAX series work has resulted in an enormous decrease in hospital utilization and 30-day readmission rates.
