Delgado statement on COVID-19

Posted

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Congressman Antonio Delgado sent this note to constituents: “This is a challenging time for our region and our nation, and I urge folks not to panic, but rather to prepare and follow New York State and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines. My office is working to remain transparent and accountable throughout this pandemic, including the launch of a new phone appointment tool that allows people to set up a time to speak with a member of my staff about issues with the federal government or casework. We will also be moving to a tele-town hall format for the immediate future.

“Earlier this month, the House took the first of many needed steps to address this pandemic by passing an $8.3 billion response package on March 4 that the President signed into law that same week. This legislation includes access to low-interest small business loans, a vital resource for our upstate economy.

“In addition, I joined a broad, bipartisan coalition in the House in voting to pass H.R. 6201, the Families First Coronavirus Response Act, which provides direct support for families and small businesses, who are already facing challenges during this pandemic. This legislation will provide essential services to assist working families and seniors across upstate New York during the COVID-19 pandemic.”
