Jeffrey P. Clemente, 71, of Beach Lake, PA, passed away June 20, 2022 at home. Jeffrey was born August 2, 1950 in Brooklyn, NY. Memorial services were held June 24 at the Hessling Murray Funeral Home in Honesdale, PA. On June 25, there was an interment at the Calkins Union Cemetery in Calkins, PA.
Gerardo Contreras Garcia, 36, of Mongaup Valley, NY, passed away June 19, 2022. Gerardo was born October 3, 1985 in San Bernardino, Mexico. A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated June 24 at St. Peter’s Roman Catholic Church in Liberty, NY.
Elizabeth Jeanne “Betty” (Franz) Higgins, 92, of Port Orange, FL and Eldred, NY, passed away June 15, 2022. A Mass of the resurrection was held June 24 at St. Ann’s Church in Shohola, PA. Interment to be at St. Ann’s Cemetery in Shohola.
Phillip W. Killam, 71, of Honesdale, PA, passed away May 30, 2022 at Wayne Memorial Hospital in Honesdale. Phillip was born April 27, 1951 in Honesdale. A private graveside service will be held at the convenience of his family.
John E. Murphy, 69, of Newport, NY, passed away June 21, 2022 at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center in Utica, NY. John was born July 4, 1952 in Herkimer, NY. A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated June 25 at St. John’s Church in Newport. Interment with military honors followed in St. John’s Cemetery.
August A. Rempkowski, 62, of Honesdale, PA, and formerly of Pike County, PA, passed away June 17, 2022 at Geisinger Community Medical Center in Scranton, PA. August was born in 1959. Services will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
David Earl Smith, 74, of Cherry Ridge, PA, passed away June 15, 2022 in Scranton, PA. David was born November 18, 1947 in Cherry Ridge. Per his request, funeral services will be private.
