James Paul Aragona, 81, passed away April 4, 2025 at the Wayne Memorial Hospital in Honesdale, PA. James was born July 26, 1943 in Jersey City, NJ. A receiving of friends will be held on Saturday, April 12 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Saint John Neumann Church, 705 Rte. 739 in Hawley, PA. A Mass of Christian burial will follow at 11 a.m. at the church.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Thursday, April 10 at St. Mary Magdalen Church in Honesdale. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 9 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Hessling Murray Funeral Home, 428 Main St. in Honesdale.

Carolyn Kay (Shaffer) Funk, 82, of Bethany, PA and formerly of Etters, PA, passed away March 29, 2025. Carolyn was born November 13, 1942 in Elizabethville, PA. A celebration of life memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 26 at Fishing Creek Salem United Methodist Church, 402 Valley Road in Etters, PA, with a visitation from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Interment will be at the Fishing Creek Salem United Methodist Church Cemetery in Etters.

Carlton Edward Gay, 87, of Honesdale, PA and formerly of New London, NH, passed away March 27, 2025 at Julia Ribaudo Extended Care Center in Lake Ariel, PA. Carlton was born October 11, 1937. Private services will be held at the convenience of his family.

Diane P. Giampapa, 74, of Hawley, PA, passed away March 30, 2025 at Wayne Memorial Hospital in Honesdale, PA. Diane was born September 22, 1950 in Queens, NY. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 12 at Pinelawn Memorial Park, 2030 Wellwood Ave. in Farmingdale, NY.

Kenneth Hoering

Kenneth Hoering, 67, of Weirton, WV and formerly of Jeffersonville, NY, passed away on March 30, 2025. Kenneth was born September 1, 1957 in Liberty, NY. A funeral service was held April 7 at Steel & Wolfe Funeral Home in Weirton. Interment will take place at the Center Cemetery in Midway, PA.

Eugene H. Huebsch, 78, of Liberty, NY, passed away March 29, 2025 at home. Eugene was born June 4, 1946 in Carbondale, PA. Firematic services were conducted April 1 at Harris Funeral Home in Liberty. Funeral services followed. Burial was held April 2 in the Sullivan County Veterans Cemetery in Liberty.

Florence “Flo” Elizabeth Wood Leewe, 88, of Hortonville, NY, passed away January 20, 2025. Florence was born March 8, 1937 in Callicoon, NY. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday, May 17 at 1 p.m. in St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Obernburg, NY.  Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Steven Preston Luty

Steven Preston Luty, 74, of Callicoon, NY, passed away March 29, 2025 at home. Steven was born April 18, 1950 in Jackson, MI. A celebration of Steve’s life and a short service were held April 4 at Harris Funeral Home in Roscoe, NY. A celebration of life will be planned this summer for Steve and Peg’s friends and family in Michigan.
