CRMC receives DNV GL accreditation

Posted

HARRIS, NY — Catskill Regional Medical Center has received full accreditation by DNV GL Healthcare Inc./NIAHO® under deeming authority from the Centers for Medicare Services (CMS). By earning accreditation, CRMC has demonstrated it meets or exceeds CMS patient safety standards. DNV GL’s accreditation program is the only one to integrate the ISO 9001 Quality Management System with the Medicare Conditions of Participation.

ISO 9001 is the international standard that specifies requirements for a quality management system (QMS). By adopting and applying ISO 9001 standards, organizations can achieve consistent results by focusing on continually improving processes.

DNV GL’s accreditation program, called NIAHO® (National Integrated Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations), involves annual hospital surveys—instead of every three years as some other accrediting agencies survey—and encourages hospitals to openly share information across departments and to discover improvements in clinical workflows and safety protocols.
