UPPER DELAWARE RIVER REGION — Photographers can submit entries until August 31 for the Delaware Highlands Conservancy’s second annual photography contest.

This year’s theme, “Confluence: Land, Water, and Wildlife,” invites photographers to capture nature-inspired photos in four categories: landscape, wildlife, macro and water. Photos will be judged on creativity, originality, composition, clarity and quality, and impact, and must be taken in the Upper Delaware River region to be eligible.

Although participating is not a requirement for entry, this Saturday, May 11, the Delaware Highlands Conservancy is offering a guided photography workshop and native plants walk through the Milford Experimental Forest. The River Reporter’s very own Sandy Long will instruct participants on how to take effective, striking photos in nature.

The winning photos will be chosen by a panel of judges, along with one People’s Choice, and will be hung at the ARTery gallery in Milford, PA, beginning with a reception on November 9 from 6 to 9 p.m.
