Happy New Year! “Grateful” is the perfect way to start this new year off the right way.

To begin, a huge thank-you to Eileen Hennessy for her many years of service writing the Lake Huntington News column. I certainly have big shoes to fill, but am grateful to announce that I will be sharing the news and events for Lake Huntington from now on.

This is truly a full-circle moment as my husband’s grandmother, Ethel Hulse, was the previous author of the Lake Huntington News. She took great pride in reporting the news, announcing new additions, and usually ended the column with “a great time was had by all!” I hope to do her proud. Our family has many fond memories of Ethel hand-writing her column to be delivered to the editors each week.

A little bit about me: former art educator, Long Island native, blogger (find me online at https://www.everafterinthewoods.com or @everafterinthewoods on Instagram and Facebook) and local advertising agency owner (https://www.jennpowelldesigns.com). Our family resides locally, and we spend most of our spare time at our children’s sporting events, horse shows and local restaurants supporting local, small businesses.

I am looking forward to sharing news, events, local businesses and more. There are so many wonderful things happening here in Sullivan County and I cannot wait to share them all!
