FALLSBURG, NY — Nothing like a double hat trick to make your day.
On Tuesday, September 18 Fallsburg’s Jonathon Lagos racked up six goals for the Comets as the home team defeated the visiting Yellowjackets of Eldred 8-2 in a non-league boys’ varsity soccer match.
In the first half, Lagos drew first blood, followed in short order by Eldred’s Sawyer Halter to tie it up 1-1.
The remainder of the opening frame was all Comets (4-2, 1-1), as they swept the rest of the half.
In the last half, Eldred (1-1, 0-0) managed their second and final goal of the match as Jordan Reed scored.
Fallsburg goals: Lagos (6), Oscar Brizuela (1), Kevin Manjarrez (1); Assists: Brizuela (3), Lagos (1), Aaron Tejeda (1), Manjarrez (1); Keeper saves: Ricky Garcia (6).
Eldred: Sawyer Halter (1), Jordan Reed (1); Assists: Christian Schadt (1); Keeper saves: Brandon Kopf (8).
