LAKE HUNTINGTON, NY – Christopher Durang’s comedy “Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike” makes its Sullivan County debut October 4-12 at the Delaware Valley Opera Center. The play is directed and designed by Christopher Peditto.

“Chekhov is alive and well in Bucks County, PA, where adult siblings Vanya and Sonia reside in their old family home, mourning their lost dreams and missed opportunities,” a press release notes. “After their soothsayer/maid Cassandra warns Vanya and Sonia of impending doom, their movie star sister, Masha, arrives unexpectedly, accompanied by her hunky young lover Spike. When Masha reveals plans that will upend the family, long-repressed resentments bubble over in a weekend full of wild costume parties, voodoo dolls and surprise romance.”

There will be four performances: Saturday, October 4 and 11 at 8 p.m., and Sunday, October 5 and 12 at 2 p.m.

The Delaware Valley Opera Center is located at 6692 Rte. 52.

Tickets cost $35 and are available at www.myrivertickets.com. More information is available at www.riverrep.org.
