Celebration of life planned after Raymond L. Hamill passes

HONESDALE, PA — Black bunting has been hung across the Wayne County Courthouse entrance in memory of former Wayne County President Judge and former District Attorney Raymond L. Hamill.

Judge Hamill passed away Sunday, December 8 at the age of 74.

He served as President Judge of Wayne County from 2007 to 2017 and Senior Judge until 2021. Prior to that he served as District Attorney from 1984 to 1992. In addition to his years of county service he spent decades in private practice as an attorney. Judge Hamill was community minded and also served as a member of the Honesdale Lions Club, a past president of the Wayne County YMCA, and a past president of the Wayne Memorial Health System and Hospital Boards.

The county would like to express its heartfelt condolences to Judge Hamill's wife Donna and their children James and Meredith along with his entire family in this difficult time.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, December 28 at 11:00 a.m. in the Historic Courtroom of The Wayne County Courthouse, 925 Court Street, Honesdale.
