Matt Cartwright has done a great job representing the 8th District. When Matt Cartwright became our congressman, it was a breath of fresh air.
Matt takes his job seriously. Every week he meets with people in his district, asking what their concerns are and working to help his constituents. Matt works very hard to bring funds to the area that help our schools, hospitals, businesses etc.
Rob Bresnahan, running on the Republican ticket, is not interested in meeting people of the 8th District. Where is he? I’d like to ask him some questions but he’s never around. Can we ask him why he accepted millions of dollars from members of the Republican Study Committee, the aim of which is to cut trillions from Social Security and Medicare? Considering there are many retirees in the 8th District, this is very concerning.
I’d like to know what his platform is and how he intends to help our area. People have said he really doesn’t care about Wayne County. They are probably right. What is Bresnahan’s experience? Will he be another Marino, not meeting with constituents? Will he be a rubber stamp for the Republicans?
Matt Cartwright was named one of the most effective House Democrats by the nonpartisan Center for Effective Lawmaking and “Bipartisan Champion” by the Common Ground Committee. He has succeeded in authoring and passing 16 substantive bills into law, signed and enacted by the last three presidents.
Maybe Republicans should vote for Matt Cartwright. He has a much better record. Experience means a lot. It’s difficult to get anything done if you have no experience.
