Career day for workers displaced by prison closure

Posted

FALLSBURG, NY — Michele Frazier, a candidate for NYS Senate District 51, is organizing a career day for the corrections professionals displaced by the imminent closure of Sullivan Correctional in Fallsburg.

As a professor of criminal justice at SUNY Delhi and a former placement worker, she aims to support those seeking new job opportunities. She is offering free individual appointments on Friday, August 9, from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Fallsburg Public Library.

“Early in my career I worked in placement helping folks with job searches, resumes, cover letters and career transition,” Frazier said. Now, “I train many who go on to work in corrections and other areas of law and public safety. I want to use those experiences to help the hard-working folks who find themselves displaced by the closure of Sullivan Correctional and unexpectedly on the job market—one of life’s most stressful experiences.”

To schedule a meeting with her for resume assistance or career guidance, email info@michelefrazierfor51.com.
