Canaan inmate tests positive for COVID-19

CANAAN  TOWNSHIP, PA — The Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP) confirmed on its website that an inmate at its penitentiary in Canaan has tested positive for COVID-19, marking the first COVID-19-positive inmate in Pennsylvania.

As of Thursday, April 2, the BOP has not reported any COVID-19-positive employees in Pennsylvania. Nationwide, 57 inmates and 37 staff members have tested positive so far.
