SCRANTON, PA — On July 30, U.S. Representative Rob Bresnahan, Jr. (PA-08) and several constituents of Pennsylvania’s Eighth Congressional District sat down for a press conference to discuss how Rep. Bresnahan’s office can assist Northeastern Pennsylvanians with navigating federal agencies and highlight examples of recent completed cases.
“The stories we heard today are exactly why we do what we do,” said Rep. Bresnahan. “Over the past seven months, our office has responded to over 62,000 constituent inquiries, returned more than $2.5 million in taxpayer dollars to constituents, and closed over 1,000 pieces of casework. And behind each of those numbers is a real story, a neighbor who needed help. If you or someone you know needs assistance, we are here to help.”
The press conference included remarks from three constituents: Silvano Rivera, who reached out to Rep. Bresnahan’s office to request assistance in reuniting him with his children who had been neglected by their mother in the Dominican Republic; Leonard Wilson, a small business owner who contacted Rep. Bresnahan’s office to resolve an issue he was having with the IRS; and Sandi Levens, who reached out to Rep. Bresnahan’s office as a representative of the Greater Honesdale Partnership to seek assistance with achieving non-profit status to apply for grants.
