BLOOMING GROVE, PA — On October 16, at 1:30 a.m., Trooper Matthew Cruver and Trooper Adam Thomas of PSP Blooming Grove Patrol conducted a traffic stop on Robert Allen Mandato from Pittsburgh on Interstate 84 Westbound, Greene Township, Pike County. Throughout the course of the traffic stop, numerous indicators of criminal activity were observed by the troopers and a consent to search was conducted. During the search troopers located laundry bags in the vehicle’s trunk which were determined to have 55 pounds of marijuana with a street value of approximately $220,000, a variety of prescriptions pills, and over $11,000 in cash. Mandato was charged with possession of marijuana with intent to deliver, a felony offense along with other misdemeanor drug charges. Mandato was jailed in Pike County Correctional Facility on $250,000 bail while he awaits a preliminary hearing.
