‘Bird whisperer’ at bird club dinner

Posted

BLOOMINGBURG, NY — Glenn Sorino, better known as “The Bird Whisperer,” will be the featured speaker at the 31st annual Catskill Exotic Bird Club dinner, to be held Thursday, July 26 at the Eagle’s Nest.
Recently profiled in The New York Times and a self-described parrot “pied piper,” Sorino, 60, has been assuaging owner frustrations, coaching, grooming and evaluating behavioral issues in birds for the past 20 years. He has had extraordinary success in solving intractable problems with parrots as well as just improving the relationship between parrots and their owners.
As one of his many grateful clients said, “We consult Glenn with everything. He can take the most difficult situation with a parrot and make it seem natural, like breathing.” This a rare chance to see him and his own, very well adjusted parrot outside of his practice in the New York City area.
The dinner is open to the public, but seating is limited, and reservations are required. The dinner costs $40 and is all-inclusive from appetizers, choice of entrees to dessert, gratuity and valet parking. There will be a silent auction of a wide-variety of high-quality donated merchandise as well. The meet-and-greet begins at 6 p.m. and the program and dinner begins at 7 p.m.
Early reservations are encouraged. Call club president Richie Chiger at 845/794-7966 or club vice president Matt Frumess at 845/747-9370 for reservations or for more information.
