Barn burns in Ferndale

FERNDALE, NY — On November 16 in the late afternoon, the Liberty Fire Department got a call for a building that was burning on Radcliff Road. It was a one-story barn that was fully engulfed when firefighters arrived. The building, which was used to store hay and farming equipment, was a total loss, but there were no injuries and the fire was not deemed suspicious.

Some 50 firefighters battled the blaze which included teams from Livingston Manor, White Sulphur Springs, Swan Lake and Hurleyville.
The blaze was brought under control in about two hours, and crew remained on the scene for an additional three hours to take care of any hot spots.
