PORT JERVIS, NY —  The opening reception for the exhibit “Artists in Exile” will be held on Saturday, February 15 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at RH Smith Mercantile, 22 Jersey Ave. The event will feature artwork from 33 refugee and displaced painters, poets and photographers.

There will be a variety of artworks for sale, along with signed prints and books by refugee artists and authors and products made by refugee artisans. Proceeds from all sales will benefit the International Rescue Committee, which provides humanitarian relief to people affected by war, conflict and natural disasters. Refreshments will be served.

The exhibition is being organized to raise awareness of the global refugee crisis and to support the International Rescue Committee’s efforts.

Registration is not required. For more information or to purchase tickets, visit www.AIEshow.com. Tickets will also be available at the door for $5 (cash or checks made out to the International Rescue Committee).

The exhibition will continue through Saturday March 15. There will be a screening of the film “The Story Won’t Die,” at the closing reception.
