These one-hour virtual performances begin with three concerts entitled “Everyday SCCO” streaming from the Suzanne Stanway Arts Haven in Monticello, NY on Monday, August 10, Tuesday, August 11 and Wednesday, August 12 at 8 p.m.

These three performances entitled “Part I: The More Music You Know” will feature selections by past and current composers from historically marginalized groups: Black composers on Monday, Women composers on Tuesday and Latinx composers on Wednesday. Friday’s program will be repeated on Saturday, August 15. SCCO performers will move inside for a live-stream “Home Concert” at 7:30 p.m.

On Sunday, August 16 from 4 to 5 p.m., SCCO will host an hour-long performance entitled “Part III: Four Seasons of Sullivan County” is a virtual launch party for their new CD. Viewers will be encouraged to ask questions about the artistic process or the music itself. Composer Nancy Wegrzyn, artist Laurie Kilgore and recording engineer Peter Weitzner will join the conversation as well. SCCO musicians will play live music, share a clip from the premiere of this amazing work and share a track from the CD.

WMH golf tournament

HONESDALE, PA — The 14th annual Harry Kiesendahl Memorial Golf Tournament will take place as planned on Monday, August 10, but due to occupancy rates for indoor dining decreasing from 50 percent to 25 percent, Woodloch Resorts has informed Wayne Memorial Hospital (WMH) that it will not be able to provide the usual dinner at the event. Hospital and Wayne Memorial Health Foundation administrators still expect a great tournament.

Funds raised will help the nonprofit hospital purchase state-of-the-art technology and fund physician recruitment incentives. Last year, the tournament raised $43,000 for the hospital’s Second Century Fund, named in honor of Wayne Memorial’s centennial this year.

The hospital and Woodloch are working to enhance aspects of the day for golfers, including a more special box lunch than in years past. Woodloch has also put certain measures in place for safety—including masking requirements in public areas.
