HONESDALE, PA — The Wayne County Arts Alliance (WCAA) Gallery, located at 959 Main St., announced its first members’ group show of the WCAA Gallery’s 2025 exhibition season: “Anima: Instincts and Intuition.” The show runs from April 10 through May 3, 2025, with an artists’ reception on Friday, April 11, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
“Animism is the belief that every living thing has an individual soul,” an arts alliance press release reads. “It stems from ‘anima,’ which means ‘soul,’ and is the root of the word ‘animal.’ That soul is linked to instincts and intuition—behaviors, innate knowledge and compulsions that allow us to survive, create and experience the world as the animals we are. Birds fly south for the winter, wolves howl at the moon, and we express our journey through life by creating art.”
“Anima: Instincts and Intuition” includes the work of 19 WCAA artists who engage in questions such as “What sparks our desire to create?” and “Who are we deeply, on the inside?”. Participating artists include Erica Mozdzen, Elizabeth Tilley, Laura Lippay, Phyllis Chekenian, Norma Bernstock, Barbara Carpenito, Diane Stout, Sierra Gaglione, Victor Polanco, Diane Motroni, Bill Westmoreland, Debby Pollak, Mary Ardan, Tom Holmes, Bozena Janiszewski, Susan Cottle, Monique Milleson, Sonya Gregory and Olivia Martin.
The WCAA gallery hours are Thursdays through Sundays, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. For more information, email wcaamaingallery@gmail.com or visit waynecountyartsalliance.org.
