A new chapter begins at the Sunshine Hall Library

Welcoming Melissa Reid

ELDRED, NY — Melissa Reid has recently assumed the directorship of the Sunshine Hall Free Library in Eldred. She has been on the job for approximately one month, and has been enjoying her new position very much.

Reid (aptly named for the position) said that she was anxious to reenter the workforce since her young daughter will be starting school full time in the fall. She was drawn in when she read the description of the job environment, which was depicted as small-town and friendly.

She was thrilled that, in her words, “the job description was 100 percent accurate. The patrons and townspeople have been welcoming, encouraging and I’ve felt ‘at home’ from the beginning.”

Her goal is to continue doing the great job that her predecessor Patty Kennedy had done for the past 18 years. Said she, “I want to get to know the community and its needs, and make the library the best it can be.”

Sunshine Hall Free Library is located at 14 Proctor Road, and serves the communities of Highland and Lumberland. It is open Tuesday through Saturday. For more information check out  www.sunshinehallfreelibrary.org
