HONESDALE, PA — Judge Ray Hamill had an idea. He thought that getting a bunch of artists together would brighten community spirit.
According to Pauline Glykokokalos, Hamill, who is very supportive of caregivers and workers at the Wayne Memorial Hospital, came up with the notion of getting a bunch of artists together to do some large chalk art in the parking lot and walkways outside the hospital. This way, he thought, the images would be visible from above or by people entering and leaving. It was also a way to thank hospital staff for their efforts.
And so it was that Devon George, left, Jim Spencer, Heather Spencer, Dave Justice, Katalin Justice, Nicole Curtis, Jeff George and Pauline Glykokokalos, members of the Wayne County Arts Alliance, created this colorful scene.
