HARRIS, NY — Each year, local radio station WSUL joins with the Catskill Regional Medical Center to host a Heart-a-Thon Fund Drive in honor of American Heart Month.
This year, the funds raised on February 22 from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. will help subsidize the purchase of a TeleRehab system, which is an advanced cardiopulmonary rehab telemetry system by VersaCare. Telerehabilitation is said to reduce the costs of both healthcare providers and patients, and allows patients who live in rural or remote areas access to services they may otherwise miss.
All of the money raised goes 100% toward the equipment purchase. You can donate to the cause ahead of time via PayPal, http://bit.ly/HeartAThonTRR. To donate via mail, make checks out to CFOS Bold Gold Media Fund—CRMC/Attn: Jodi Goodman P.O. Box 800 Harris, NY 12742.
Last year, the fundraiser garnered $64,000 for the purchase of an advanced cardio training mannequin at CRMC in addition to supporting the Grover M. Hermann Hospital.
