LOCH SHELDRAKE, NY — On a chilly afternoon in mid-December, scores of scholar athletes doffed their warm winter wear and donned traditional lightweight track and field outfits, proudly showing off their school’s colors and distinctive logos.

On Wednesday, December 12, six local school districts competed at an invitational indoor track meet at SUNY Sullivan to develop and fine-tune their skills in several events including dashes, hurdles, distance races, shot put, high jump and relays.

While the results weren’t posted in the record books, the events gave the athletes time to stretch their limbs, and prepare for the spring season of track.

Participating schools at the community college’s “Down in the Bunker” gymnasium: Sullivan West, Eldred, Monticello, Fallsburg, Liberty and Ellenville.
