SEEDS gets new director

HONESDALE, PA — Sandy Long, a contributor to The River Reporter’s River Talk column, is the new executive director of the non-profit energy and environmental education organization, SEEDS.

SEEDS serves the northeast region of Pennsylvania, promoting sustainable energy and sustainable living through projects and awareness-raising.

Sullivan lauded for energy upgrades

MONTICELLO, NY — The Sullivan County Legislature and officials recently completed work on energy upgrades on county-owned buildings that will result in equivalent emissions reductions to removing 104 conventional gasoline-powered cars off the road, and also save taxpayers $115,000 a year in maintenance and energy costs.

Wayne organic farm goes solar

DAMASCUS, PA — Willow Wisp Organic Farm is partnering with the local Clean Energy Co-op to make the switch to solar-power. They plan to install 168 solar panels, which will power over 140% of the farm’s energy needs.
