ALBANY, NY — The New York State Appellate Court issued a decision on June 14, upholding the conviction of Saundra Hansson, 25, for assaulting a three-year-old child. The earlier conviction resulted in Hanson being sentenced to 22 years in state prison.
Patrick L. Robinson, Wayne County District Attorney, announced the arrest today of Robert Malpasse, age 49, for Solicitation to Commit Criminal Homicide and related charges. Malpasse is a resident of Moscow, PA.
MONTICELLO, NY — Sullivan County officials executed nine search warrants on June 8 and arrested 26 Sullivan County residents who police allege were involved in a large drug network. The year-long investigation began with the New York State Police Community Narcotics Enforcement Team.

HONESDALE, PA — Moira Richey, 53, has been sentenced to 60 days to 18 months in the Wayne County Correctional Facility. Richey pleaded guilty on March 9, 2018 to one count of theft and one count of abuse of a corpse, both misdemeanors.
LIBERTY, NY —On May, 5, 2018, the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Patrol was called to investigate a dumping complaint on Barton Road in the Town of Liberty. At the location deputies met with Town Supervisor Brian Rourke who pointed out where several bags of garbage had been thrown.
On April 11, Environmental Conservation Officer Tom Koepf received a call from a citizen in Cochecton reporting an injured bald eagle near his home along the Delaware River. ECO Koepf arrived and located the eagle near a set of railroad tracks. The bird was suffering from a severely broken right wing.
