Two arrested for grow house operation

TOWN OF THOMPSON, NY — Two men have been arrested for participating in the operation of a marijuana grow house at 70 Hill Top Road in the Town of Thompsom.

The Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at the property on March 29, and found the two suspects tending to the plants,

 Jose Duran, age 43, of Philadelphia, PA, and Jose Alberto Gomez DeLeon, age 56, of New York City were arrested and charged with felony possession f marijuana and unlawfully growing marijuana, a misdemeanor.

The two men were reportedly in possession of 108 pound of marijuana with and estimated street value of about $432,000, accord to the sheriff’s office.

The two men were arraigned before Town of Thompson Judge Sharon Jankiewicz and sent to the Sullivan County Jail in lieu of $35,000 bail.

The Sheriff’s Office was assisted by U.S. Homeland Security Investigations and Town of Bethel Constables. The search warrant was prepared by the Sullivan County District Attorney's Office.
