At 10:05 PM Saturday 9/30/17, Monticello police responded to a 911 report of shots being fired in the area of Wood Avenue and Forestburg road in the Village of Monticello. Responding Monticello officers assisted by the New York State Police discovered Shaun Chadwick, age 47, of Monticello down in the parking of the “Its’ a wash” laundromat located at 27 Forestburg road.

Chadwick has sustained multiple gunshot wounds. Chadwick was transported from the scene by Mobile Medic Ambulance Paramedics to CRMC in Harris. Preliminary investigation indicates that Chadwick was shot near the intersection of Wood Avenue and Holmes Street, which is located behind the business where he was found by responding officers. It is also believed that this homicide is drug related.  Monticello police are being assisted in the investigation by the Sullivan County District Attorney Office and the New York State Police BCI.
