'Cop Café' inspires talk of community in Monticello

MONTICELLO, NY — Mental health services, recreational activities for kids, detox inpatient sites in the county—much of the conversation on Thursday at Savory Sweets on Broadway revolved around what Sullivan County lacks.

SHOHOLA, PA — After de-authorizing their small township police department in December, the Shohola Township supervisors saw to the logistical leftovers on February 14.

Drug bust in Honesdale

HONESDALE, PA — On December 14, Honesdale police responded to a report of a male threatening his neighbors with a gun. When officers arrived at the scene at 1037 Main St., they discovered that Pierre Schandall had gotten into a disagreement with his neighbors. During the course of the argument, Schandall brandished a gun.

Large amounts of drugs and cash were seized at a home in Honesdale.

Honesdale duo arrested with 7,000 LSD doses

HONESDALE, PA — A Honesdale couple was arrested with a large amount of drugs and cash on September 21. Police were summoned to the residence on 11th Street because of a domestic disturbance. When police went inside the house, they discovered it was filled with a haze of marijuana smoke, and a seven-year-old child was in the home.

Sullivan certified as storm ready

MONTICELLO, NY — Dave Nicosia of the National Weather Service paid a visit to the Sullivan County Safety Committee on August 2 to certify that the county has been certified as being a member of the Storm Ready Program.
