LAKE ARIEL, PA — There are upcoming events at the Lacawac Sanctuary for people of all ages. For the over-18 set, there’s the “Science of Brewing Craft Beer Dinner” on Thursday, September 20 at 6 p.m. at the Wallenpaupack Brewing Company, 73 Welwood Ave., Hawley. Fuel your passion for all things locally produced while helping Lacawac Sanctuary. Enjoy a four-course dinner paired with hand crafted beers by the microbrewery. The cost is $50 per person

For kids, there will be an event featuring Romping Radishes  on Saturday, September 22 from 10 a.m. to 12 noon, “Romping Radishes on the Run: Beaver Dance at Lacawac Sanctuary.” The free event will be a fun learning opportunity.  How do you stop the water’s flow? “Build a dam,” the beaver knows. Join the search for beaver signs and construction activities. Location: Environmental Education Center near the pond. This program is geared toward kids grades K through two, but all are welcome. Parents must stay with their children for the entirety of the program.

The following weekend, on Saturday, September 29 from 10 a.m. to 12 noon, Nathaniel Whitmore from the Delaware Highlands Mushroom Society will share his wealth of knowledge about wild edibles and how they are enjoyed by wildlife and humans. This is a short-distance hike. Wear comfortable footwear. The cost is $10 for non-members, $5 for members. All ages welcome; registration is appreciated.
