HUGUENOT, NY — The Town of Deerpark Museum Committee will host a Star Party at Harriet Space Park on Route 209 on Friday, August 4. The guided trip through the galaxy will begin at 8 p.m. William Istone, adjunct professor of science and engineering at SUNY, will provide the narrative. Weather permitting, it should be possible to see Saturn and Jupiter, some double stars, star clusters, galaxies and more.

Istone will also discuss the upcoming solar eclipse. This event on August 21 will be the first time in 100 years that a solar eclipse will be visible across the United States.

Istone will provide a limited number of telescopes. You are urged to bring your own telescope or binoculars, if possible. Also bring a blanket or chair and some snacks. There is no admission charge. Refreshments will be served. For more information call 845/856-2702 or 672-3016.
