HANCOCK, NY — The National Wildlife Federation (NWF) will partner with the Friends of the Upper Delaware River (FUDR) for a first-time event bringing together elected officials, state agency personnel and outdoor enthusiasts to support an enhanced effort to protect and restore the Delaware River. High-level resource managers and river advocates will participate in a short, guided trip on the river to experience the beauty of this important, regional natural resource and its impact on the local recreational economy.

Speakers will be at river’s edge at Hancock Fireman’s Park, Park Street. The event will start at 11 a.m. Participants will include Collin O’Mara, president and CEO, National Wildlife Federation; Jeff Skelding, executive director, Friends of the Upper Delaware River; Kathy Moser, deputy commissioner Natural Resources, New York State Department of Environmental Conservation; Jennifer Garigliano, chief of staff, New York City Department of Environmental Protection; and more.

That evening, FUDR will hold its annual One Bug banquet, which kicks off its weekend-long One Bug Tournament fundraiser. For more information visit www.fudr.org or www.nwf.org.
