PORT JERVIS, NY — Lance Verderame and John Haas of the Sullivan County Audubon Society will speak at The Hub at the Port Jervis Free Library on Tuesday, February 26 at 6:30 p.m.
Their presentation will include photos of many of the Bashakill’s 200 species of birds. Together, they have found and confirmed photographically some of the rarest feathered visitors to Sullivan County and New York. Learn about which birds will be returning to the Bashakill as part of their spring migration, as well as when to look for returning eagles. Verderame and Haas will share tips on how to see and identify the birds of our backyards and our region, and share the fun of making a “life list.”
There is no charge to attend this class. Seating is limited, so registration is required. Call The Hub at 845/856-7313 ext. 5, send an email to thehub@portjervislibrary.org, or register in person at 138 Pike Street. The first 16 attendees to register will receive a free copy of John’s book, Birding Guide to Sullivan County. The snow date is Thursday, February 28.
