COCHECTON, NY—Farmers are invited to the free Corn Plot Field Day on Thursday, September 6, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. This event will be held on My Place Road in Cochecton, NY (follow signs to property). Participants can earn pesticide credits for NY, NJ, and PA. Lunch is provided.
Jaime Cummings, NYS Livestock and Field Crops Integrated Pest Management Coordinator presents on field corn pests, specifically worms and leaf diseases. A field trial tour of over a dozen varieties will be followed by a discussion and result assessment.
Event sponsors include Cornell Cooperative Extension Sullivan County (CCESC), Cochecton Mills, and Delaware Valley Farm & Garden.
Registration is required in advance by visiting www.sullivancce.org, emailing sullivan@cornell.edu, or calling CCESC at 845-292-6180. In the event of special needs, the public should contact the CCESC office.
