Lewis Fredrick Meckle of Mechanicsville, VA, formerly of Narrowsburg, NY, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Saturday, November 3, 2018.

Born in Callicoon, NY, he was the son of late Lewis and Clara Meckle. He was a Town of Tusten Board Member for 20 years; member of the Tusten Lion’s Club; President of the Lava Fire Department, of which he was also a member for 56 years as well as honored and presented with a lifetime membership; served as a volunteer on Tusten Ambulance Team; belonged to the Local Carpenter Union of NY; was a member of the St. Francis Xavier Church in Narrowsburg; owned and operated Lewis Meckle Construction; and was co-owner of Quality Crafted Homes.

He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Beverley Meckle (Morgan); four children, Debbie Wasylyk (Joe), Lisa Campbell (Eddie), Laurie Haynes (Tom), and Lewis Meckle (Christina); seven grandchildren, Bryan Wasylyk (Christine), Jason Wasylyk, Jeremiah Williams (Brandi), Nicholas Williams (Jessie), Brandon Williams (Morgan), Amanda Meckle (Ryan), Cory Meckle (Carly); and eight great-grandchildren.

He is survived by his sisters Betty Anne Rutledge (Ray), Judy Rutledge (Amos) and Nancy Fraser (Donald); his sister-in-law Judy Reed (Morgan), sister-in-law Margie Mather (Brian) and brother-in-law Michael Morgan (Carla); and by many nieces and nephews.

Friends are invited to call on Thursday, November 8, 2018 from 2 to 4 p.m., 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Harrison Rasmussen Funeral Home, 3412 SR97, Barryville, NY; and on Friday, November 9, 2018 from 10 to 11 a.m. at St. Francis Xavier RC Church, 151 Bridge St., Narrowsburg, NY.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. at St. Francis Xavier RC Church, 151 Bridge St., Narrowsburg, NY. Father Dennis Dinan will officiate. Christian burial will follow mass in Glen Cove Cemetery, Narrowsburg, NY.
