Gale D. Kaufman, of Narrowsburg, NY passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 28, 2018, at Catskill Regional Medical Center, Harris, NY. The daughter of the late Carmine and Susan Gale DeLauro, she was born March 3, 1952 in Hoboken, NJ. She was 66 years old.

Gale was a graduate of Montclair State University, with a degree in English and a minor in journalism. She was retired office manager of Simsarian Insurance, North Bergen, NJ. She was also the former director of public relations, Union City, NJ. She worked for Highlights in Honesdale, PA.  She was an avid writer and was published in the North Hudson Reporter and The River Reporter.

Survivors include her loving husband John M. Kaufman; sister Patricia Schwarz and her husband Bill of Rockaway Township, NJ; nephew William Schwarz Jr.; brother Carmine DeLauro Jr. and his wife Jean of Jackson, NJ; nephew Carmine DeLauro III; niece Jillian DeLauro; brother Anthony DeLauro and his wife Allison Adams DeLauro of Hamilton, NJ; and niece Sarah DeLauro 

Cremation will take place at Maple Hill Crematory. A memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, November 3, 2018 from 11  a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Harrison Rasmussen Funeral Home, 3412 Rte. 97, Barryville, NY. Prayer will follow visitation.
