Milford doctor sentenced

SCRANTON, PA — Dr. Fuhai Li, 54, of Milford, was sentenced to more than 27 years in prison on April 3, for unlawfully prescribing oxycodone and other opioids to 23 former patients, including a woman from Honesdale who died from an overdose.

IDA awards Tusten solar tax breaks

MONTICELLO, NY — The board of the Sullivan County Industrial Development Agency (IDA) on April 8 voted to approve tax incentives for a solar project planned for the Town of Tusten. The 1.968 megawatt project will provide electricity to the existing customers in the area near the array through New York State Electric and Gas (NYSEG).

Ramada Rock Hill sale pending

ROCK HILL, NY — In an April 8 letter from Randy Resnick, co-owner of the Ramada Rock Hill at Sullivan Center, Resnick confirmed that the Ramada hotel is under contract to be sold. The letter said the Resnick Group is proud of the facility they created, but they always knew it was an investment.

Pike/Wayne Envirothon to be held April 25

PIKE and WAYNE COUNTIES, PA ― The 33rd annual Pike/Wayne Envirothon will be held April 25 at the Wallenpaupack Environmental Learning Center in Hawley. This one-day educational competition for high school students is designed to test their knowledge, skills and problem solving capabilities regarding our earth’s natural resources.

Baker welcomes district attorneys

HARRISBURG, NY — A group of prosecutors visited the Pennsylvania Senate on April 8 as part of their legislative outreach efforts with the Pennsylvania District Attorneys Association. They met with Sen. Lisa Baker, the chair of the Senate Judiciary Committee, to discuss pertinent issues.
