Raising public awareness

HONESDALE — The Wayne County Commissioners on March 14 proclaimed this month as Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month and the large turnout for it last Thursday demonstrated just how many people and agencies are involved locally.

Brush fire in Cochecton

Firefighers from Lava and Narrowsburg responded to a brush fire in the Town of Cochecton on Tuesday aftertoon shortly after 4:00 pm,  The fire broke out on Skipperine Road near Route 97.  The fire was located farily deep in the woods, and firefighters dragged the hoses through the trees and brush to reach the fire.

 


A video and statement about the complaint was released by attorney Andrea Shaw on March 14. 

Honesdale student files complaint over locker room encounter

HONESDALE, PA — A student at Honesdale High School filed a complaint with the Department of Education Office of Civil Rights March 14, saying she felt violated by seeing a student of the opposite sex changing with her in the women’s locker room.
