YULAN, NY — On Sunday, February 17 at approximately 6:30 p.m., the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Patrol responded to a report of an unconscious male on Martin Drive in Yulan. At the scene, deputies found a subject who had apparently driven to the location on an ATV and attempted to cut down a tree with a chainsaw.
The preliminary investigation indicates that the tree fell on the victim, causing serious injury. The victim was unable to get back to his ATV or call for help and expired. Sullivan County Coroner Elton Harris responded and pronounced the victim dead at the scene. The Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office is identified the victim as Alan Clough, 63, of Yulan.
The sheriff’s office was assisted by the Yulan Fire Department and American Legion Ambulance.
